What people are saying about Tame Impala

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best gigs I've been to I am absolutely in love with tame impala so of course I was going to enjoy this gig! The sound of them was great, the crowd were good too (not too rowdy). However jagwa ma (the support band) could have been much louder! They are a great band but dissappointingly their impact wasn't what it could have been. I also didn't like the fact that I was given a wristband to replace my ticket as I like to keep all my tickets. Despite that however I had a great time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Phenomenal music, unfortunate fans. As a supportive fan of tame impala, I was looking forward to seeing them live and experiencing a fun, almost psychedelic atmosphere with fellow fans. As much as tame impala's performance was electrifying it was getting fans into the spirit. The only thing that ruined the concert for me was the unfortunate fans who had no consideration for the surrounding people; chucking beer, pushing and shoving at almost every song, teenagers talking loudly. I'm not sure if it was the types of fans or that tame impala have now become mainstream. I was shocked and disappointed to say that it wasn't a civilised concert.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Synth-psychadelique-pop-extraordinaire! Unfortunately did not catch much of Jagwar Mar's support set but as we arrived in the standing section of the Manchester Arena the place was more than respectfully full. I had had no idea how popular Tame Impala would be but deservedly he obviously is. The gig started with the wonderfully phylharmonic let it happen, which got everyone cheering and swaying, so love that song. The gig ticked all the boxes for me eventhough I did notice the odd yawn during some of the less pulsating numbers. In summaryTame Impala did not disapoint, considering I had no idea of how well such a studio conceived album as currents would translate to the live stage. I should also mention that the songs where nicely enhanced by some smokin' psychadelic visuals

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Psychedelic Echoes Masterclass I took my teens to see Tame Impala's gig at Alexandra Palace (Friday 12th Feb). It is the perfect cavernous venue for their concept experience, which is a kind of sonic and light 'immersion bathing', for want of a better phrase. It is a thoroughly modern take on psychedelic rock and really hit it on the nail for a 'chilled and appreciative audience. Some artist and audience banter with high jinks (a few local band home made CDs thrown to the lead singer - response: "Dude, just use the Internet!". But nothing could distract from the mesmerisingly beautiful music and spiralling, pulsing, dancing light patterns weaving on the giant screen backdrop. The age of the classic rock star, as we know it, may well be over, but with any justice these guys are already breaking big. Now is the time to catch them live!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best band I've seen live in my life, and I've seen a lot I booked to see this event as soon as I heard about it, and it felt like forever on the run up to February. When Tame came on, and started with their first song I couldn't believe how much quality the band kept up even to a live audience. The visual effects were incredibly fitting and the band had a nice engaging presence where they would speak to the audience on occasion to show gratitude but it didn't take up too much of the time. Though I love 'Currents' I was worried it might not be as fun to hear as the music from say, 'Lonerism' as an audience member, but I need not have that concern. A personal favourite is when they performed, 'Let it Happen' and 'Eventually' these were visually and audibly spectacular. Of course, the entire arena was waiting in anticipation for, 'Feels like we only go backwards' the bands most notorious song. They surely did not disappoint, it was such an engaging experience to hear and see and sing with a room of thousands. I just don't have enough compliments for the band, I'd definitely recommend to anybody considering seeing them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pure happiness Excellent light show and sound that seriously reverberated through you; Kevin Parker sounded great live and the band were tight. So humble in their interaction with the crowd as well. Confetti bombs made my night

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome band, gig, support and venue!! Tame Impala have been one of my favourite bands for the last three years but hadn't yet seen them live. I had tickets to see them in Melbourne about 2 years ago but was sick so missed the gig and was really looking forwards to seeing them especially having listened the album 'Currents' non-stop last year. They were incredible live, the sound engineers did a great job and the lighting was everything you could hope for with their psychedelic sound. The band were incredible. It was the last night of their tour and it felt like a real pleasure to share the final gig with them. I didn't realise Jagwa Ma were supporting so to find out was a double bonus as my wife and I love the album and had their song 'Did you have to' at our wedding. Awesome gig that we will remember for a long time. Ally Pally is also an awesome gig venue, so much better than the completely soulless cavernous O2, Earls Court or Wembley Arena. Its large but has an intimate feel to it somehow. The indoor festival, pop up food stalls, bars and buskers in the entrance hall made the experience even better. Amazing night.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tame impala great, viewing stage poor Loved tame impala could not fault them. My issue is the stage, for someone who isnt over 6 ft tall its very difficult to see the act. Yes could see lighting and visuals but could not see band.
