The Subways came together in Welwyn Garden City when brothers Billy Lunn and Josh Morgan (don't let the different surnames confuse you!) began playing Nirvana, Green Day and classic punk covers. Teaming up with Lunn's then girlfriend Charlotte Cooper, the band got their break when Michael Eavis handpicked them to play Glastonbury's Other Stage.

Single '1am' followed soon after, becoming a firm favourite of legendary Radio 1 DJ John Peel, with the band signing to Infectious Records in 2004. Debut album 'Young For Eternity', produced by The Lightning Seeds' Ian Broudie, married infectious pop hooks to a spiky guitar sound. The album produced the band's biggest hit 'Rock N Roll Queen', which earned The Subways a guest spot on American drama The OC, where the band won a whole new following in the US. Support slots with Foo Fighters and appearences on talk shows 'The Late Show With David Letterman' and 'Late Night With Conan O'Brien' capped off a great couple of years for The Subways.

Since then, the band have worked with producers Butch Vig (Garbage, Nirvana) and Stephen Street (Blur, The Smiths) on two equally well received albums, and are currently recording their fourth, due for release later in the year. Their autumn shows mark their first full-scale tour of the UK in almost two years. Expect a band re-energised, playing hits like 'Oh Yeah' and 'No Goodbyes' alongside hotly anticipated new material.
