What people are saying about The Doors Alive
Rated 4 out of 5 by Marvinthe android from Doors alive at The Venue, Derby. My wife and I went to this event as we both like The a Doors Music. As a musician myself with experience of playing Doors covers on keyboard in a local Derby band some years ago, I appreciated the totally authentic sound of this tribute band and the near authentic look and use of same instruments to achieve a totally authentic sound and feel to the music. The singer was excellent as was the keyboard player in particular. The venue is not the plushest of places and is not making the best use of the space it has. The entertainment space could easily be extended to allow for some seating for the older gig goer. The Venue is not as large as I expected it to be but this did make for a cosy intimate gig experience which was not overcrowded.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Russ7 from Doors very much Alive Having seen the original Doors (yep, I'm that old) I was wary of a cover band. I feared a sort of live jukebox. But these guys blew me away. I went with my son, and the average age of the crowd was probably about 25-30. They all seemed to know every word of every song, and the band really knocked out the biggest and best from the Doors back catalogue. But they did it "their way". They were playing Doors music but it was fresh and innovative and I reckon Jim and Ray would have loved it. They played two sets, and there was no posing just straight playing from a very talented bunch. Great night.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Slambam71 from Blown away by his voice We were really impressed by the authentic sound of the keyboards and singers voice. He performed with a real passion, as did all the musicians, who's solos were amazing btw! Would definitely recommend and can't believe I hadn't heard of them before. Already looking at when we can see them again

Rated 5 out of 5 by abacab1975 from The Doors Alive - new singer, great gig, poor venue Sadly had to leave just after an hour with an unwell feeling partner. The Doors Alive sounded great though and the new singer stepping into the shoes of Willie did an admirable job. Will look forward to seeing them next time around. The venue they played I was less impressed with however, didn't really like it sadly and two big pillars at either side of the stage were just annoying even though we were stood in the middle, acoustics were ok, nothing special though. Not the fault of the band just personally neither of us liked the venue

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lynn56 from First time at venue and definitely not the last! My husband and I went to Brudenell Social Club for first time to see the Doors Alive. The venue was intimate and relaxing with a choice of seating or standing areas. The band were fantastic and really connected to the audience who ranged in age from teens to 60 year olds. It was a brilliant feelgood evening and we are already planning our next visit to the Brudenell. Would recommend both the band and the venue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by windy696 from So Much Better Than I Expected I'm a huge Doors fan and when I saw the Doors Alive were playing on my birthday I had to go. Checked them out on Youtube and wasn't particularly impressed but I thought let's give it a whirl. And I'm so glad I did. The band were brilliant and the venue was great. Brilliant atmosphere and a stirling performance. Definitely a band I want to see again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by droolz from just like being at an actual Doors gig Excellent gig. These guys sound like the real deal. Also the lead singer looks like Jim morrison and works the crowd into a frenzy! We saw them 5 years ago and have waited for their return. Like a proper gig from the 70s! The venue was perfect
