What people are saying about The Wave Pictures

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The wave Pictures Rock The Wave Pictures really are such a good band live, all 3 are amazing musicians! I've seen them twice now. Johnny "Helm" Huddersfield is a class drummer, be ready for some mind blowing drum solo's. Dave is such a good guitarist, tells funny stories in-between songs and writes witty insightful songs. Don't expect a warm greeting if you speak to him though! He is what you may call, socially awkward! To be fair, he and the rest of the band do sign autographs, pose for photos and chat to common folk, I mean the paying audience! Franic the master of understatement Bassist delivers cool bass rifts!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Always a complete and utter joy! I went to see The Wave Pictures (my fourth time!) with my husband. Usually playing very small venues, this band is great at creating a brilliant atmosphere whatever the venue. Of course they encourage singing along to all their songs, but they have an added quality inasmuch as there is an ever-present hint at sharing a joke. Always a joy, The Wave Pictures' songs are celebratory, full of emotion, musically skilled and irresistably dance-inspiring! They are a tsunami of energy, leaving you with the most tenacious of smiles for hours afterwards. A great gig indeed, as we would have expected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wave Pictures at the Cumberland Arms Useful warm up band Baker Island Tynesides version of LCD Soundsystem complete their last number and stage left, before you know it Wave Pictures break into the first number, no build up, no MC just pure getting on with it. Three numbers in it is clear the night will be very slighly spoilt by A. two off their heads drunks head banging at a Wave Pictures gig! (later ejected) and B. loud talkers and I mean loud FFS why pay good money to talk all the way through a gig madness. Any how back to the gig, pure class, not sure there is a tighter band out there rattled through top tunes known and unknown then we were done time up. shame until thye next time.. post gig purchased vinyl "A Season in Hull" thing is I dont own a turntable... this will be put right soon.
