Rated 5 out of 5 by from Johnny Marr Having seen Johnny Marr on the bill for the who gig at Hyde park, where he impressed me impressed me very much. The opportunity to see him again at the Engine Rooms in Southampton was one not to be missed. Again he delivered a superb set on top tunes from the days of the Smiths, his own compositions and very well done covers. Great gig at a great venue

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A local legend in one of Manchester's hidden gems !!! To say Manchester had the pleasure and privilege of having Johnny Marr in such a stunning venue is understatement , this amazing hidden gem of a venue was an ideal place to showcase his work and is fast becoming my favourite venue in the city. Set in the grade II listed Wesleyan church we witnessed Johnny breezed through an immense back catalogue of Smiths and Electronic songs straight through to his current album Playland and a cover of The Primatives song Crash with his son Nile joining the band during the encore. Johnny Marr had the whole venue mesmerised by the time he played the seminal How soon is now and could do no wrong in our eyes. The venue and his amazing guitar work provided an evening of bliss in the heart of the city.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from There's A New Guitar In Town Cycled to this one 'cos the weather was fine and like Johnny, I like to keep fit. Took about 60 minutes from my place in Leeds. Wasn't easy to find a safe place to leave my bike, but apart from that ... W23 is an excellent venue and was rammed with old school Smiths fans and young indie kids who know Johnny thru' Cribs and solo stuff. Johnny knows his music and takes care to select some nice tunes before he hits the stage - 'Street Life' by Roxy Music really got me in the mood for what turned out be a right crackin' show. Great set, plenty of energy from the stage and from the floor. Johnny Marr and his band are excellent value LIVE. Check 'em out ...!! ps. Let's have Johnny booked for next year's Long Division Festival in Wakefield. On the mainstage at unity works would be ideal ... SEE ya!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Johnny Marr at Engine Rooms. Superb event!! Supporting band not brilliant but Johnny Marr was his usual brilliant self!! Getting the tickets was a very simple affair through Seetickets, thank goodness! I find some sites far too over complicated - all I want is to book for the gig I want NOT be bombarded with stuff I haven't asked to look at!! The venue is 'proper'!! A great venue for bands and the sound was spot on!! Definitely recommend getting yourself along there - pronto!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not my choice but really enjoyed it ! I bought my other half the tickets as a birthday present as he was a big Smiths fan. I was just going along for the ride and did not expect to know many songs. However, I really enjoyed it - it was of course never in doubt that he is an excellent musician, but he did a real mixture of his own stuff, Smiths and Electonic tracks - something for everyone, great fun, great music and great night out !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Johnny Marr, Albert Halls Manchester As I was working in the Manchester area ,just a short train journey and short walk, it was packed when I got there with great atmosphere, good support band, great set list by Mr Marr, included a couple of Smiths songs as well as his own stuff, he's always got good banter with the crowd, and certainly knows how to produce the perfect gig, really enjoyed the evening.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from JOHNNY JOHNNY MARR!!! I went to this gig as a die hard Smiths fan and having seen Morrissey numerous times but yet to experience Mr Marr live. He literally blew me away the new album was played along side his other solo stuff and Smiths classics. The vibe between him and the crowd was obvious and with such a small venue it felt like a real privilege to see him up close.
